Elder Porn

Shigeo Tokuda, an unremarkable-looking former travel agent from Tokyo, hid a secret from his family for years. They had no idea that his film "cameos" were actually roles in more than 300 pornographic films. The Los Angeles Times reports that Tokuda, now 76 and a grandfather, began participating in what's known as "elder porn" at the age of 59 when he contacted producers, hoping for a "senior discount" on porn DVDs he enjoyed. Instead, the producers talked him into acting in the films and he has since starred in such titles as "Prohibited Nursing" and "Maniac Training of Lolitas." The films play upon well-documented Japanese male fantasies. In each, Tokuda plays a gray-haired master of sex who teaches his ways to an assortment of young nurses and secretaries. Whips and sex aides often factor in the plotlines. "I'm a role model for a lot of men," he says. "I do my best." His sideline remained a secret with his family until five years ago, when his daughter saw a fax describing a scene from an upcoming shoot. There wasn't the lawyer-dialing and plate-throwing that would take place in many American households. Think controlled, perhaps repressed, anger. "My daughter complained that this wasn't a very nice job to do," he recalls. "My wife worried about my health. She said I was getting old and that this work must be difficult on me physically." Yes, it's hard to imagine that would have been the reaction of most American wives.
